POETRY | Evan's Poem

He should be happy because at least his father's there
But what the world doesn't see is that his father doesn't care.
See he's not his first son and he's not the only girl
So he's stuck somewhere in the middle in his own lonely world.
His only source of comfort lies in the faith of his own future
He presses on for his mother to fulfill the dreams of what he can do for her.
Dreams constantly bruised by this man in his life.
The struggle is continuous, he's never been a stranger to strife.
One thing is for certain his father has taught him how to be a man
Not by showing him what to do right
Not by showing him how to walk and stand.
His father didn't teach him how to treat a woman
Or encourage him to be all that can.
His father didn't plant the seed of living life without infidelity
But his father did show him everything a man should not be.
What his father never realized is that through his own ill actions
He would teach his youngest son to live a life full of passion
A passion that would drive his desires inside
To become the man opposite of what he saw in his own father's eyes.
See his father was a great example afterall.
So even though his father doesn't care,
That's reason enough to be grateful that at least his fathers there.
